August 20, 2012

Hei Hei,

How y'all doin this week?

This week has been fantastic and really busy.  Are language classes are still pulling 25+ students every time which is amazing.  This is the last week for the language class and they will have an exam.  I can't believe it's already been four weeks and that the transfer is already half over.  When is time going to slow down?...ha ha.

On Wednesday Eldste Torjesen and I went down to Tønsberg(90min drive) for their district meeting.  It went really well and the district leader really applied the things that we talked about in zone training meeting the week before.  After district meeting we went and got some McDonald's and ate along the shore.  It had been a while since i have eaten McDonald's but it was pretty good.  I think it's a lot better than it is in the states but you probably don't care about McDonald's in Norway so I'll move to bigger and greater things ha ha.  On the coast in Tønsberg they had the largest hand made viking ship.  I'll send some pictures but it took them two years to build it.  That was pretty cool and they also had a kon tiki boat that they had made for the movie that is coming out this month.  The movie looks way good and we got to go on the boat and walk around.  We then drove back to Drammen and went on splits with the drammen elders.  Eldste Torjesen and I both worked in Drammen and stayed the night there.  It was a lot fun and we had a great time there.

On Friday we visited this new investigator that we picked up named F.  He lives over an hour away so we borrowed the senior couples car to drive there.  He lived in the middle of no where and we had to drive on a dirt road for like 15 minutes.  It was so sick and he lived on his own private lake.  He had no running water, and no electricity besides some solar panels on his roof.  It was so cool and it makes me want to have a cabin in the woods ha ha.  We had a great lesson with him but it's going to be hard for him to come to church because of the distance and he doesn't have a car.

We have been working with a lot of people but a lot of them are just potentials and then they kind of fall off.  K and S are awesome and have showed a lot of progression.  They are looking good for baptism in September.  Most of the people we are working with speak Norwegian which is actually pretty good in Oslo.  This place is full of immigrants and some parts of Oslo is like 80% muslim.  It's pretty cool to experience all these different cultures in one country.

Other:  Alright now its time to answer some questions:  Eldste Torjesen and I speak 100% Norwegian when we are with each other but we usually speak English around other missionaries.  We have been teaching K and S about twice a week and then they come to church as well.  In our mission we have a 3x3x3 which means that we try and meet with an investigator three times a week for 30 minutes and it will result in a three week baptism.  I literally can't wait to talk to you pops about missions after my mission ha ha.

The work is moving forward and i love being a missionary.  I know this is the Lords church and I'm so grateful to be a member of it.  I love you all and I'll to you all soon!

Eldste Godfrey
