How y'all doin? We had a fantastic week and the highlight of the week is when C GOT BAPTIZED!!!
It was one of the best baptismal meetings I've been a part of. He invited his whole family, so his parents, brother, sister, and aunt all came. They had done a lot of research about the church before hand and found a lot of negative material so they came to the baptism very skeptical. They were shocked to see that we were just normal people ha ha. We ate dinner with C at the Bishop's house on Sunday. It was awesome and we talked about the priesthood with C. He is going to be ordained to a priest next Sunday. The Bishop shared his whole conversion story with us at dinner and then he asked for C's story. We found out that he had been researching the church online for almost a year before he got in contact with us. It was amazing to hear his conversion story. He is going to be a strong member and great leader for the church.
On Tuesday we were able to meet with a family referral we received from a member. The Father is not a member but his wife is and is from Arizona but she is less active. They have a baby girl and we hope we can bring them back. Other than that we don't have a ton of stuff going on but we do have a ton of potentials.
We had our big Zone Training Meetings this week so we took a train down to Tønsberg on Wednesday. The meeting went very well and I feel I'm becoming a much better speaker in front of people, i actually enjoy presenting stuff in front of people. The presentation took the entire day on Wednesday with traveling and everything. We had the same presentation on Thursday for Oslo District which took most of the day so it was a very busy week.
We had some crazy stuff happen again in the Oslo ward. We had a less active member walk into the middle of priesthood sessions completely drunk. He interrupted everything we eventually had to kick him out. We also had a member start criticizing that no one has love in this ward and another member got really offended and they started yelling at each other. We had to break them up in the middle of priesthood meeting before it got physical. It was pretty intense!I found out that I will be staying in Oslo for another transfer. I will have been here for six months at the end of next transfer. There are some things that I'm really excited about for next transfer. I have only served in three areas and most people that have been here as long as me has served in 8 or more areas. President Evans wants us to be in areas for a very long time so we can build good relationships with the ward. It will be an interesting transfer because there weren't very many changes.
I'm so grateful for everything i have learned this transfer. C was definitely the highlight of my transfer and I'm so excited to see him learn and grow this next transfer. I know the church is true and i know that no one can't stop it from growing and reaching all corners of the Earth. I know the Book of Mormon is Gods word and it is truly a marvelous work and a wonder.
I love you all!
Eldste Godfrey
