Hey y'all! How you all doin? Your vacation to Mexico sounded way legit! I'm glad you all had a good time! I can't believe the weather has been so bad in Utah. I feel pretty blessed to be in Norway this winter ha ha. It's been in the mid 30s which is not to bad. I can't believe Jessie totaled her car. I hope everything is alright... I'm sure she wasn't very happy. I got Christmas cards from Dave Smith and his family as well as the Schmutz family. Steve is starting to have a lot of grand kids.
Elder V and I have planned for the next six weeks and all the areas were going to visit. We will mostly likely be visiting the following cities: Oslo, Drammen, Fredrikstad, Moss, Skien, Tønsberg, Arendal, Kristiansand, Stavanger, Bergen, and Trondheim. It's going to be intense and I also found out that I might be going to Tromsø next transfer and I'll die there. It is going to be a busy three months. I wish time would slow down ha ha.
It has been a busy week with moves but we were able to see a lot of miracles this week. We had a great Sunday with four investigators in church. H and his wife came to sacrament meeting and then we had a few others that we are working with. I also gave a talk in church which was really great. I love speaking in church or just in front of people. It's exciting to come out of my comfort zone and the more i do it the better i become. I was asked to give a ten minute talk about the restoration and I didn't want to have any notes so I just listened to the promptings of the spirit and said what felt like needed to be said. It was an amazing experience and I got a lot of complements afterwards! I still don't think I'm that good at talking in front of people but I'm getting better.
We ate with President and Sister Evans twice this week because of the new missionaries that came. It was way fun to be with them and help them adjust to their new life for the next two years. We took them out contacting in Oslo and they were all champs. They are going to do great!
We had a really cool experience with a less active lady from Rwanda. She moved to Norway in 1996 and was baptized in 1997. She had bad hips so it's hard for her to come to church but we shared a message with her about the doctrine of Christ. We asked her if she knew anyone we could share this message with and she said, "no not right now."
We moved on and then closed with a prayer. I asked her if there was anything we could to do to help her and she told us she would like a ride to church this Sunday. We told her we could get something arranged and then I said, "Will you do us a favor?" (she nodded yes) "Will you pray for someone that we can share the gospel with?" She then immediately responded, "of course I have a friend I want you to call and invite to church." It was a miracle and we have gotten in contact with her and she is planning on coming to church and wants to learn more! We were very blessed!
We also met with H over the week and we found out that he has been reading in the Book of Mormon. This was also another big miracle! He would be a very strong convert to the church here in Norway. I'm really looking forward to teaching him and helping him gain a faith in Jesus Christ.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to be serving the Lord here in Norway. I'm grateful for the many things I've learned on my mission and I'm looking forward to learn many more things in the years to come. Thank you for all your support and love. I know that God is watching over us and will bless as we are obedient to his commandments. I love you all!
Eldste Godfrey
