Happy New Year!!!

How y'all doin?  It was great to see all of you on skype.  Justin looks way different but everyone else looked about the same.  I love my family and I want you all to know that you’re the best!
This week has been very busy and probably was the fastest week I've had on my mission.  We had our three day mission conference and it feels really good to be done with that.  Elder Williams and I were in charge of the entire conference besides the presentations that were delegated down.  I'm actually kind of surprised how smoothly everything worked out. Everyone made it home safely both nights and arrived on time both mornings.  No one got hurt or missed their flights.  It was a big success and all the time and energy Elder Williams and I put into the conference paid off.
It was a blast to be with everyone.  I thought I was going to be stressed out of my mind at the conference but I was actually very relaxed and I had a great time.  We have some great missionaries here and I'm very privileged to be able to work and learn from them.  President Evans called Elder Williams and me up to the stand to bear our testimonies in front of the mission at the end of the conference.  I wasn't expecting this but it was great opportunity to share my testimony.  I'm so grateful for the gospel in my life.  I know our conversion to the gospel is what’s going to save us not the organization of the church.  I'm grateful for the church organization that we have that helps on the way back to our Heavenly Father.
I have eaten so much food lately and I would be very surprised if I haven't gained any weight.  We have been invited to dinner every night for the past two weeks.  We ate lots of ribe (ribs of a pig) and lots of pinnekjøtt (Lamb that is salted and dried).  I love pinnekjøtt!  It tastes absolutely amazing!  We danced around a lot of Christmas trees and sang songs as well.  Singing and dancing around the Christmas tree is one of the traditions I’m going to take home with me ha ha.
Thanks mother for the nice quote you sent me.  I hope all missionaries are living close enough to the Lord so that their appearance is as if they were angels or messenger’s sent from the Lord.  I'm excited for Jakob to get his patriarchal blessing.  There is not a week that goes by without me thinking about my blessing.  He will learn to treasure up the words that will be given to him in his blessing.  I'm excited to hear how it goes next week.
I will be flying to Tromsø next week and visiting all of the cities in the north for some training.  I'm so grateful for your love and support you give me every day.  I know that the Lord is blessing us and I know that we have a bright future ahead of us.  I love you and I’ll talk to you all next week.
Eldste Godfrey
