WOW family... you all look great! Thanks for the pictures!
How are things going for all y'all? We started out this last week pretty slow but we ended the week with lots of miracles. Elder V and I feel very blessed and we know that the Lord is watching over us.
We went on two splits last week with the Oslo elders and the Drammen elders. It was fun to be with those younger missionaries and help them out in their areas. I'm convinced that I am learning just as much if not more than they are learning from me. We have some amazing young missionaries right now in the mission.
I had this eye opener experience with one missionary in one of the areas. He was skilled but one of the most humble missionaries I've met. It was amazing to see the power he had when he talked to people on the street. I learned that it is better to be humble than to have skills. As we are humble when we talk to people on the street it will make all the difference. It's all about relying on the Lord and not on your own abilities. The spirit is who does the converting not yourself.
We had a new senior couple come in this week from West Point, Utah. This will be there second mission after serving at the Polynesian culture center in Hawaii about two years ago. They are way cool and Elder H is a big time golfer and worked part time at Schneider's bluff. We basically took care of them for two days and drove them around. They had a lot of luggage that wouldn't fit in our VW polo so we drove President's car around. I'm not going to lie it was way sick! President has this way nice diesel Volvo sports wagon. It was so fun to drive! We had his car for a couple of days because he flew to Denmark on Saturday and drove our car to the airport.
As you can imagine we ate a lot of really good food since we ate all our meals at president's place during those couple of days. As you know I love grown up talk so it's always fun being around these older and more experienced missionaries ha ha. Elder V said it in a good way, "We're in the school of the prophets."
This Sunday we had five investigators in church plus several less active members. It was awesome! Two of them will be new investigators and we should start teaching them this week. They are from Kenya and they are a member referral. We are going to take President and Sister Evans on the teach.
The Sandvika ward is doing really well with church attendance this year. In 2012 they reached 100+ in sacrament meeting fifteen times and in 2013 they have been over 100+ each week! I'm looking forward to another great week. The Lord is hastening his work and it is such a blessing to be part of this work.
There is a spiritual war going on right now in the world. Many people are lost and confused. The gospel brings this direction and guidance that we all need so we can make it safely back to our Heavenly Father. I hope and pray that those searching for truth will find it as we open our mouths and share the gospel. I love you all and I hope you all have a great week!
Eldste Godfrey
