Hei y'all,
How is everyone doing? I loved the pictures that you sent. I miss the red rock and the warm weather ha ha. Jakob looks legit with his golf attire on and Justin looks like a champ doing the front flip in the sand.
This week was fantastic with a specialized training meeting and mission conference. President Teixiera and his wife came to visit us and it was a well needed visit for our mission. They were both amazing and there are so many things that i need to work on. Our training meeting took all of Wednesday and Elder T and I gave a presentation about our zone and presented a statistical report. It went well, even though I was a little nervous about presenting in front of a general authority. President Teixiera has spent the last 11 days with President Thomas S. Monson so as you can imagine President Teixiera was pumped up and was so full of the spirit.
The next morning was mission conference and I was asked by President Evans to conduct the meeting. I was worried about messing something while conducting but it actually went really well. After the meeting Elder T and I took the van and drove missionaries to the airport. We had to make a couple of trips so we spent the rest of the night driving to and from the airport.
We met with our investigator J twice this week. We brought him to a dinner with a member family and that went really well. We found out that his dad is really high up in the pentecostal church in Norway. It's going to be hard for him to get baptized because of his family and his career. I think if he continues to meet with us he will eventually be baptized. We had some great lessons with him and he is so shocked with how much he learns every time he meets with us. He has looked up a lot of anti stuff on the church so we usually spend a ton of time just answering his questions.
Elder S the district leader in Oslo is in the hospital because of the herpes virus. He gets cold sores all over his body and wasn't able to eat or sleep so they took him into the hospital. He hasn't been able to work for about two weeks now. The doctors don't know how to get rid of the cold sores so they won't let him leave. In the US they just give him pain killers and it goes away but they refuse to give him pain killers here. He should be out in the next couple of days but in the meantime I'm in a three some with Elder L.
I was reminded of a quote this week that i heard at the beginning of my mission. It goes something like this, "The first six months of your mission determines the rest of your mission and the last six months determines the rest of your life." I have six months left and i have so many things i want to work on. These next six months are going to be very precious to me and I'm excited to just give it my all. I want to become the person the Lord wants me to come. I want to build my relationship with my Savior. I want to be unshakable and be able to endure to the end for the rest of my life. It is such a great opportunity to overcome the natural man on the mission and become a Saint. This will only happen if I humble myself and become as a little child. I must have the same will as the Father. I love the gospel and i know by living it will bring me the most happiness. I love the scriptures and the mysteries of God that you can find in them. I love you all and I hope y'all have a great week!
Eldste Godfrey
