Hei Hei,
How y'all doin? I've had a great week here in Oslo but... it's starting to get really cold. I think this winter is going to be worse than last winter. I need to prepare myself mentally and of course physically for this one ha ha. We had a busy week with splits and Zone Conference. I went on splits with Elder S and it was probably the best splits I've ever been on. We had remarkable success and we ended up teaching 10 people, receiving 6 numbers, 3 new investigators with appointments and visiting a less active. It was awesome! A Norwegian kid we met came to church on Sunday and really liked it. We had something crazy happen at church on Sunday which didn't put a good impression on this new investigator. Someone came into the church most likely during sacrament meeting and stole a bunch of stuff. The person went down stairs and checked all the coat pockets hanging up as well took all the bags and dumped them out looking for valuables. It was terrible, the investigator got his $600 i pod stolen and one of the missionaries got his camera and recorder stolen. This investigator wasn't very happy as you can imagine but hopefully he will stick around.
We had Zone Conference on Friday and that went very well. We had good presentations and really good food! We had a short testimony meeting at the end and i had the opportunity to bear my testimony. I can't believe i will be giving my burnomony (last testimony before you go home) soon. One of the missionaries from my MTC district got up there and talked about how fast your mission goes by. At the end of November we are the second oldest group in the mission...crazy right? I have started thinking a lot more about dating lately and I'm really excited about that.
When Elder S and I were on splits we met this guy named from NYC. He is this way cool black gangster dude with a fro. He is visiting some family here in Norway but has been out on the streets since he was 15. We started up a basketball activity every Saturday morning and he came to it. He was a baller ha ha. This last week we ate dinner with a family and the spirit was really strong as we shared a thought with them. They gave us their son for a referral. We invited him to come play basketball and he came too. It turned out to be a pretty successful.
Our investigator H, is still coming along. He is now in Helaman in the Book of Mormon. The only problem is that he will be going to his house in Thailand for the winter and he leaves in about 10 days. Next time we visit him we will talk about missionaries visiting him in Thailand. H is probably the funniest man I've ever taught. I love teaching this 86 year old man. He already believes in the Book of Mormon but doesn't quite understand why we needed a Savior. Buddhism has influenced him a little bit but he is starting to understand a lot better.
I got an e-mail from T, a convert from Skien today. She is living in Finland right now going to school and she had the opportunity to go to the temple and do baptisms for the dead. I'm so grateful for the opportunity i had to teach her and to see the change the gospel has made in her life. She is such a strong member already and is a great example to me. She is also very involved in the ysa program in Finland and teaches classes sometimes. I loving hearing from her and the great experiences she is having. The gospel is true everyone! I love you all and i look forward from hearing from you all next week.
Eldste Godfrey
