October 8, 2012

Hei Hei y'all!

This week was fantastic with General Conference, Zone Leader Council, and two splits.  It was a very busy week and we had a lot of stuff to do.  I'll begin on Monday telling you about my week, we were asked to run statistics for the key indicators over the last three months.  As all you can guess, I loved doing it.  I used excel spreadsheet and put in all the data and then proceeded by making line charts and all sorts of statistics to see how we are doing in our zone.  We gave the report at zone leader council and our zone is doing quite well.  We found out that we will be presenting our statistical reports in front of Elder Teixira (quorum of the seventy) at the end of the month.  We will be having a mission conference the day after our meeting with Elder Teixira where he will preside and run the show.

On Tuesday we went on splits with the sisters and i know what your thinking... how does that work?  Well we stay within sight and sound of each other while contacting or in an appointment.  I was very impressed with their teaching skills and their confidence as they taught people on the street.

On Wednesday we had zone leader council which was always fun.  Our topic we will be focusing on this month is the spirit of urgency.  I'm really excited about this topic because i want to get my greenie energy back going.  Elder T took a train down to Tønsberg Wednesday night for splits.  I stayed in Oslo with Elder A (from my MTC district) and Elder W (new missionary from Alpine Utah).  I had a great time and our splits focus was urgency.  We were in a threesome so when we went out contacting i went with Elder W.  We had a great time and he is a solid missionary.  Our splits ended Thursday night when Elder T got back in from Tønsberg.  Friday was the first day this week where Elder T and I could actually work in our area.

Saturday and Sunday were obviously the best.  I love General Conference so much, it is literally my favorite part of the year.  We had a blast here in Oslo with the Romerike Elders, AP's, Two sets of Oslo Elders and the Sisters all together.  We also has the senior couple, office couple and the mission president and his wife with us.  We had delicious food and a great time together in the center as we heard the words from the Prophet and the Apostles.  There were so many things that stuck out to me of where i could improve as well as things i can do now so I don't regret something down the road.  I'm so grateful for the church and I'm so proud to be a member.  The church is the greatest organization in the world.  No doubt about it!  Being a member of the church will bring you more happiness than anything else in the world including: career, schooling etc.

I love my family and I hope you all have a great week!

Eldste Godfrey
