Hallo familie,

My søster (Jessica Godfrey Hansen) is married!  WOW!  I'm so happy for them and i wish them the best of luck!  I asked søster if I'm going to be an uncle soon... i hope so, i love kids and i can't wait to have some of my own.  How is everyone doing?  I'm glad the wedding turned out great and i definitely missed being there but i know where I'm supposed to be.  Y'all going to be very busy these next couple of weeks with the moving etc.  I only got like three pictures of the wedding so i hope you all send more next week.  I will be fine if you send me the DVD too.  I hit my year mark this week which is crazy!  Time is flying by and i have less than a year left now.  I still have lots to learn so I'm grateful for this next year i have to learn.  This transfer i have definitely learned a lot.

I really enjoyed this last week and we are now starting to fill the funnel here in Skien.  Victor and Shola have kind of cooled off because of work and school.  Its been really hard to meet with them lately.  We met a guy on the bus from Africa this last week who could turn to be a big potential.  He has been to church one time a few years ago because a member invited him.  He is married now and has one kid.  He also plays on a local basketball team which would be a lot of fun to play with him sometime.  The weather has been really nice as of lately too.  It has actually been colder in April than it was in March but it hasn't been bad.  It was like 55F yesterday which is perfect for missionary work.  Jon came to church yesterday and we went with him to a concert in Porsgrunn last night.  It was some famous harp and violin player from Poland.  They were really good and it was really peaceful.  Jon bought our tickets and went way early to save us seats.  We didn't realize we would have the best seats in the house ha ha.  We were in the front row center ha ha.  Before it started, Eldste Heimdal and i contacted the city of Porsgrunn.

I forgot to tell you guys a couple of weeks ago that Gian got baptized.  He is the one from the Philippians that Eldste Bolt and I were working with in Kristiansand.  He moved to Stavanger and finally got baptized.  He is also the one that i have lots of pictures with.  He is a way cool guy!  I was talking to him a couple days ago on the phone about his conversion story.  He is going to be a great asset to the Stavanger ward.  I also forgot to tell you about a missionary here in Norway.  His name is Elder Poulson and he is originally from Mesa Arizona but his family moved to Kaysville right before he left on his mission.  His family lives like right across from the Bowens by Cherry Hill.  He goes home this fall and will be studying at Weber State.

The transfer is almost over and these next couple of weeks are going to be really busy.  This coming week we have a dinner appointment every night with a member or an investigator.  I will also be going on splits in Tønsberg on Tuesday and Wednesday.  This transfer has gone by way fast and i know the summer is going to go by even faster.  I bought my first batch of strawberries for the year a couple of days ago.  They were really good and i can't wait for all the berries this summer.  I should be able to afford a box of raspberries every week if i calculated right ha ha.

Other: We have permission to check our bank accounts so i checked mine.  I took some money out last week to buy a box to send home so i wasn't sure if i had enough so i just decided to check it.  Come to find out i had plenty ha ha.  Speaking of the box, i think I'm going to buy how to train your dragon.  It will be in Norsk and in English.  I heard in that show they use different dialects in Norsk so you will be able to see some of the dialects i get to learn here in Norway ha ha.  I will also be sending home one of my jackets probably.  Its a really nice jacket that i got for a really good deal ($50).  Its just to big to carry around right now in the summer and i don't think i will have room for it when i leave at the end of this transfer.  In my new area I'm probably going to buy a light rain jacket that i can use in the summer.  One of my American suits is destroyed so I'm going to leave it skien and i will also be leaving a pair of my rock ports that are destroyed.  I don't need more p-day attire because we wear our proselyting attire on p-days anyway.  As far as the shoes go i think it would be better if you bought them in the USA because they are cheaper.  They are about $200 or more here in Norway.  If you get them in them in the US just make sure they are water proof and that it has thick bottoms that easily grip.  They basically look exactly like the rock ports but i think they last longer.  I appreciate all of your help!

I appreciate all of your love and support you guys give me.  I'm convinced i have the best family in the world.  I miss you guys like crazy but it is my duty and privilege to serve the Lord for two years.  This is the least i could give Him after he has blessed me and this family so much.  I know that Christ lives and that he is watching over every single one of us.  I know as we use the Atonement in our lives we will be able to overcome our challenges.  I love the scripture that is found in Alma 34:32 that states, "this is the time for men to prepare to meet God"  Let us prepare now to serve our Master our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I love you all and i look forward to talking to you all soon.  By the way i don't know about mothers day yet but i should know more next week.

Eldste Godfrey
