Siljan with Eldste Heimdal

Hei Hei
Hva skjer familie?  How y'all doin?  There is so much stuff that has happened since last week that i don't know where to begin.  Well the weather has been really off and on here.  One day will be really warm and the next day it will rain all day ha ha.  On Tuesday we went to Siljan which is up in the mountains.  We had a ward activity up there and it was so much fun.  We hiked into a camping spot right on a lake.  It was so beautiful and I'll send some pictures.  I told you guys when i first got here, that Norway is the most beautiful country in world... well i still believe it.  It's so beautiful here especially when everything turns green.  We were in Siljan for most of the day and we ate hot dogs, played kick the can and lots of other stuff.  It was so hot as well and i got fried.  My nose is peeling now ha ha.  I'm not going to lie though, I'm pretty tan ha ha.

That started off the week really well and then things just got better and better.  Wednesday was another really nice day where i got lots of sun again.  We were able to pick up two positive investigators.  We met one in the park and set an appointment at the place she was working later that day.  We went there and taught her and two of her co-workers.  She volunteers once a week to work at this place called Søtte gruppe for Kenya which is a support group for Kenya.  Were going to be going over there this week to teach her and do some service.  We met another by knocking on some doors.  He was really open for ideas and he fell off his bike and cut open his leg so he can't go anywhere so I'm hoping that he will just read the Book of Mormon ha ha.

On Thursday Eldste Otteson from Tøsberg came down to Skien and we went on splits.  We had a great time and had a good amount of success as well.  We rode our bikes up to Skattfoss which is about a 15 min drive from Skien.  Its a little village in the mountains.  That was beautiful as well and they have this really long canal system that connects their river with another river.  We met up with a less active that lives there that hasn't been to church for several years.  She has said, no to visits in the past but recently said the missionaries could come visit her.  The only other person that's a member in her family is her daughter who lives in Sweden.  We began talking to her and her son and husband came and joined the conversation.

At first we just talked about life and such things and then before we left, i asked if we could share a message.  We taught them about the restoration and the spirit was so strong.  The less active bore her testimony to her son and husband of the truthfulness of the restoration and that she knows that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph was a prophet.  It was amazing and her son that was atheist started asking questions about prayers and receiving answers to prayers.  We plan on meeting with her again soon and help her come back to church.

The Lord is really blessing us and we've really been able to see some progress this last week.  I only have one week left in this area and next week i will know where I'll be serving next.  I'll miss this area and i will definitely come back and visit it some day.  There is a lady in the ward who is from England but married a Norwegian.  Her name is Jeanie Isaksen and she will be traveling to Utah at the end of May.  She has a son that goes to BYU and Rolf (husband) has a sister that lives in Kaysville that she is going to stay with.  We eat with the Isaksens almost every Sunday and she said that she would love to meet you.  I told her that you guys would love to meet her too so maybe you guys can get together or something.

I will be at their house next Sunday where i will use Skype to contact you guys.  They have three skype accounts and said i could just use one of theirs.  They have two sons out on a mission right now, one in Peurto Rico and the other in Utah so they will be skyping as well.  I should be able to skype pretty much any time i want on Sunday.  What time does church start for you guys?  I was thinking we could do it at around 9:00am which would be about 5pm here.  I will get back on the computer later today and check to see if that works.

Other: The house looks great and i hope you guys have fun at the jazz game.  When is mark moving into his house soon?  How did it turn out?  Is there some other houses that are getting built in the neighborhood?  I didn't know that you guys put up a white fence on the current house too.  How much is the new house going to cost by the time everything is done?  I heard Alayna is getting married?  I can't believe all the changes that happen in just one short year ha ha.

I'm so grateful for all of your support and i know that this is where I'm supposed to be.  I'm loving it here and the mission is so much fun.  I have so much to learn and i can't believe that i have less than a year left to learn it all.  I look forward to seeing you guys on Sunday and good luck with the packing.  I love you all!

Eldste Godfrey
