Hei hei familie,
How y'all doing? I love general conference and i can't wait for the next one. General Conference is time for personal revelation and inspiration. As we take General Conference seriously by taking notes, writing down questions, praying and fasting it will open the doors for personal revelation for our lives and most especially our family. I encourage all to study the Ensign which will be coming out soon with all of the conference talks. I hope and pray that we will be able to feast upon its words for the next six months and receive personal revelation. This is a wonderful time to be on the Earth and experience the joys of having the gospel in our lives. The talks were truly inspiring and strengthened my testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We were able to watch all sessions of conference. On Saturday evening we watched the Saturday morning session. On Sunday we watched the priesthood session and all the other sessions. We stayed up late last night and watched the last conference until 12:00pm. On Sunday between sessions we had a big feast with all the members. It was a lot of fun!
We had our first district meeting for this transfer on Thursday in Tønsberg because of all the other meetings I've had in the last two weeks. I received a call from the mission President on Tuesday morning wondering when we were doing district meeting last week. He wanted to interview my companion Eldste Heimdal so we did district meeting on Thursday so President could come. I wrote down the wrong time when the train comes on Thursday morning so we missed it ha ha. I was pretty mad ha ha but then i just had to forget about it because that's life. I hurried and called my district and President and said that District Meeting was going to be postponed for an hour ha ha. We got there eventually and everything was fine. I didn't want the district meeting to go too long but it ended up being two hours. These district meetings have been an excellent way for me to improve my teaching/presenting skills in front of people.
Last week we have been focusing on meeting with less actives. I have gone through all of the less actives and have created maps of where they live. It is a huge list and is going to take time to go through it all. About 50% of the members are less active here in skien and sometimes even higher around Norway. I have thought about these less actives a lot lately and after prayerful consideration i feel that working through the less actives in this area will bring us success and build this area of the vineyard up. We met with a less active a couple of days ago from Brazil. She was a really nice lady and hasn't been to church for years. She told us she misses and wants to come back. As active members we need to take this responsibility of bringing back the lost sheep that have gone astray.
This coming week we will be full of challenges with the Easter Holiday. Easter here in Norway is a huge deal and the whole county shuts down. Not a single store is open from Thursday to Monday (even the grocery stores). The towns shut down and everyone goes out of town (usually to their cabins). It will be important that we work smart this week. I'll be traveling to Tønsberg tomorrow morning for splits and won't be back in Skien until Wednesday afternoon. On Friday will be going back to Tønsberg for District Meeting. It will be busy week and the coming weeks are even busier. The next week I'll be going on two splits and district meeting, then the week after that we have a three day conference in Oslo.
Other: The house is looking good and i was going to ask you about the stairs but you already answered that ha ha. What about furniture? Are you taking all of our furniture from our old house? That is funny that Mark sold his house in one day. Do you have an estimate of how much Mark is going to pay for his new house? You should take some pictures of the other houses that are getting built as well. I sent Grandma Godfrey a letter but I'm not sure if it got there so please let me know if she gets it. I also sent a letter to Grandma Ott but i sent it to our address because she told me she was coming up to Kaysville soon. I will probably send another one today to our address.
Family i know that this church is true and it has blessed us so much! I'm so grateful for your guys example to me and i hope you all have a great Easter. Talk to you all soon and Love you all!
Eldste Godfrey
