November 19, 2012

Hei alle sammen!

How are y'all doin?  This last week has been fantastic and probably the best week Elder T and I have had this transfer.  The Lord blessed us so much and I'm so grateful for the miracles that have happened this week.  I will be moving to Sandvika on transfers.  I will become the next assistant to the president.  It will be a great opportunity to learn and grow but it will be completely different than what I'm used to.  On moves day I will be driving people back and forth from the airport from 7:00am to 5:30pm.  I have received several e-mails from President already talking about flights he wants ordered etc.  It should be a lot of fun but a lot of work too.  I will be serving with Elder W from Bountiful Utah.  He is a great missionary and I'm confident that we are going to have a good time together.  It will be fun to really get to know President and Sister E.  I will be at their house often and I'll be working in an office for most of the day.

Elder T and I were in charge of zone training meetings this week so we gave presentations in Tønsberg and Oslo.  It went pretty well but now I'm done with zone training meetings and now I will be in charge of zone conferences and mission conferences.  I will be flying and driving a lot more than I'm used to.

On Tuesday, we had a very busy day doing service for a less active and then the usual things like our language class, and the A family dinner.  After we ate dinner we went and visited the N family that i told you about a couple of weeks ago.  The whole family was there which includes M (father), B (mother), E (15 yr old son), and M (11 yr old son).  B is the only member but she has been inactive for over 20 years.  They all listened to our message about how families can be together forever.  It was so awesome teaching a family.  Everyone has really opened up but it probably helped that Elder T and I gave them homemade cookies that we had made.  Elder T and his new companion will continue working with them.

We had four investigators at church on Sunday which is the best week we've had this transfer.  We had I from the Faroe Islands off the coast of Scotland.  The islands are owned by Denmark and they speak their own language as well as Danish and Norwegian.  He is a way cool kid who is a student here in Oslo.  He brought a friend named T to church from Skien.  They both really liked it and it wasn't like they expected.  We will be meeting with both of them this week.  We also had J another student in Oslo come to church.  He is way cool and he came to a baptism we had on Saturday too.  His family is pentecostal but he told his family that he has been meeting with the missionaries anyways.  He is reading from the Book of Mormon everyday.  The other person we had at church is named C and he has a wife and two kids.  We have been very blessed with a lot of positive investigators!

You guys are awesome and you are all a great example to me.  I know that I'm where I'm supposed to be.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity i have to serve the Lord as a missionary.  I love you all and have a great Thanksgiving!

Eldste Godfrey
