Kjære Søsken,

How y'all doin?  This has been another fabulous week here in Oslo folks.  Last Monday was way fun and today is going to be a lot of fun too.  We are probably going to another lake to hang out at.  My camera ran out of battery last week so i didn't get any pictures of the lake we went to but it was gorgeous.  We brought a portable music speaker, a grill, hot dogs and chips up to the lake.  The elders and the sisters came with us.  Sister Andersen is in Oslo with us so i guess we go to the same church building when we get home ha ha.

Happy Fathers day and i hope you enjoy that double shot.  Happy Birthday to Justin and Dad this week!

On Tuesday we had a Norwegian language class and one of the sisters investigators came to the class.  They told us that he would be coming and that we should teach him the restoration after the language class because they were going to be busy with another appointment.  We did that and this man was prepared.  He just moved here from India and is looking for a job in business.  Eldste Johnson and I got a baptismal date with him for July 7th.

I left on Tuesday night down to Skien for splits.  I was with Eldste Torgessen (from Kristansand) for splits and we had a lot of fun.  We spoke Norwegian the entire time we were on splits.  It was pretty cool!  We went and met with one of their investigators and got a baptismal date with her.  We also ate at the Bishops house on Wednesday night.  It was good to see the Vidar Top and his family again.  They are still planning a visit to Utah next summer and i told that we would have to hook up and do something.

Eldste Torgessen and I talked about Kristiansand a little bit.  I miss that place a ton and i can't wait to visit it again.  I love the people there and i love the setting.  Its beautiful!  Eldste Torgessen said they have a cabin on the ocean that I can stay at when I come visit.  They have a tennis court in the neighborhood and they have a bunch of kayaks and canoes that you can take to neighboring islands.  I told him that when they come to visit the Utah they can stay with us ha ha.

We got a baptismal date with J for July 7th this week which was really good.  It has been hard to meet with him after we got the date though so we will see.  We also got a date with A the kid from Portugal on July 7th.  We met with A during the week and took him to a members house for dinner.  We had so much fun with him.  He wants to move back to Cameroon some day and live out in the country.  I told him when he does this i will come visit him in Cameroon.  He is a good man and has lots of faith and I'm very grateful that i had the chance to teach him and baptize him.  He told us that when he was growing up in Cameroon every summer the whole family gathers together in the village and then the whole family hangs out with each other for the next couple of months.  They have big bonn fires every night and big feasts.  In the village they have no electricity so they have to make do.  It sounds way awesome!

On Friday we had the big zone conference.  Elder Johnson and I spent a lot of time preparing for it on Thursday.  We had a presentation on contacting with the spirit and I used my computer skills and created a way sick power point.  I think it went pretty good but the big good stuff was when President Johansen talked.  It was amazing and i actually recorded it so i will trying sending it to you today.  He basically gathered all the things that he thought was most important for us to know and told us for his last zone conference.  He also told us all the stuff he says in the exit interviews he does with missionaries.  It was amazing and I'm definitely going to follow the advice he gave.  He gave good advice of how to stay active in the church.  He says that 40% of returned missionaries go in-active after their missions because they stop doing the vital things like reading in the scriptures, praying and coming to church.  He says it is so easy to fall into this trap so he says we need to create lifetime habits to fall back on if your heading toward apostasy.

President committed all of us to get up at 6:30am or earlier for the rest of our lives.  I'm 100% convinced that I'm going to do this for the rest of my life.  I know this is what i should do for the rest of my life and i know that you guys might be thinking I'm crazy or that i won't be able to do it in college or whatever else but I'm telling you right now that I'm going to do it and you are my witness!  Another thing he committed us to do is to study in scriptures for at least 30 minutes in the morning every single day before you leave the house.  President Packer has said that most of his revelation comes in the morning.  I feel that it is so important to rise early every morning no matter what!

On Saturday R got baptized which is Elders P and C investigator.  It was a really neat baptismal meeting and R bore her testimony afterwards and was crying uncontrollably trying to explain the feelings that she was having.  It was a very spiritual moment.  We all went out to dinner afterwards to peppes pizza.  It was really expensive... over $125 for 8 people.

I love this Gospel and i know the church is true!  It changes lives in others including my own.  I love you all and i hope you have a great week.

Eldste Godfrey
