Hei hei Familie,
Åssen går det? This week has gone by super fast and i feel like I'm starting to lose myself in the work again. I have been reading and watching some church history materials and man do i have it easy ha ha. The early saints that went on missions were leaving everything behind (wife, kids etc.) They also served for 3+ years with little or no contact with their family. The future is looking bright and I'm so excited to be a part of it. The work is starting to pick up here in Skien. We have had an investigator come to church the last three Sundays so things are looking promising with him. We will be eating with him at a members house on Wednesday. This week we will be focusing on finding new investigators... we need a lot of them ha ha. The weather has been really nice and it was almost to hot a couple of the days ha ha. We got our bikes fixed today so were going to start using them. I'm so excited!!! I have really good memories of riding all day in Louisiana. I believe we're going to get a lot more work done now. We rode to the church and it only took about five minutes instead of around twenty minutes when we walk. Think of how much time we could save. I'm so excited!
Well this week we had a lot of things going on. We had district meeting in Skien this week and after district meeting we went and ate at my favorite burger place now. Its called Bergbys and i might have to bring it back with me to the states. McDonald's is good but you can't even compare it to Bergbys. Its relatively cheap for a double cheese burger too (20kr which is $4US). I thought i would get fast food out of my diet on the mission ha ha. I have eaten there three times in the last two weeks but i usually don't eat out. Its so expensive here its just not realistic. After we ate there as a district we went on splits. I put the two greenies together in Tønsberg. They were pretty nervous but i thought it would be a really good experience for them. They did a good job and i was proud of them. I was with Elder Anderson and we had a great time. We taught three school classes at the church. We taught over 80 students and placed over 30 Books of Mormon. The splits started Tuesday afternoon and we didn't switch back until Thursday night. It has been a lot of fun serving around Elder Anderson from my MTC district. We couldn't help but talk about some business projects we want to do in St. George together ha ha.
I'm really looking forward to this week and we should see some good things beginning to happen. Transfers our next week so were having our last district meeting in Tønsberg this week. This transfer has gone by really fast. This summer is going to go by extremely fast and then all the sudden i only have like five months left of my mission... its crazy. I can't believe some of my buddies are going to start coming home soon. Its unreal how fast times goes. I really have enjoyed my time here in Skien and the members are awesome. We eat at a members house just about everyday. Sometimes its only six times a week but usually seven ha ha. I bought some bacon today for my Birthday on Friday ha ha. On Friday were going to Bø to eat with Adrian and Rebekke. They are so awesome! Members have told me that if I ever come back to Norway after my mission i can stay with them.
I'm so grateful for all of your examples to me. You are all amazing and i miss you guys a lot. I will never regret serving the Lord for two years. It has been the best ten months of my life. I know this church is true and is the only way to true happiness. We have all the answers about our purpose of life and whats going to happen after this life. Many people are searching for this Gospel but haven't found it yet. Missionaries are vital to find these people that are searching for the truth. Let us always remember who we are and what we stand for. We can't afford to dribble out of bounds and to expect to come back. We must hold on to the iron rod and never let go. I have been reading some of the talks from the past general conference and i loved what Elder Holland said about missions. Its called we are all enlisted. I encourage you all to read and study this talk. It would be a good family home evening lesson. The Godfrey family is a missionary family. The day will come where we will all be able to take our spouse and serve another mission for the church later on in our life. I love you all and i look forward to hearing from you all next week.
Eldste Godfrey
