Hallo Familie,
This week was a busy one! I took a train to Oslo on Tuesday and stayed the night there. The next morning i picked up my new companion, Eldste Heimdal and took a train back to Skien. On Friday we woke up at 5:00am to catch a train back to Oslo because i had a leadership training meeting. It was one of the best meetings I've been to! Eldste Heimdal went contacting in Oslo during the meeting. Eldste Heimdal is from Iceland and is 25 years old. He was baptized about two and half years ago. He played professional soccer in Iceland before he went on his mission. He has a strong testimony of the church. I had my first Sunday since I've been in Skien where we haven't had an investigator there.
I feel a bit overwhelmed this transfer with all of the responsibilities i have ha ha. President has told me its going to be a tough transfer but he still expects a model area in Skien. I will continue to be District Leader this transfer but now we have six elders in our district. We have Drammen, Tønsberg, and Skien. All of them are older than me by a long way ha ha. Three out of the six are 23 or older. In our leadership training we talked about going on splits and district meetings etc. I will go with everyone in our district at least once in there area which means i will be traveling a lot. Tønsberg is 90 minutes away and Drammen is about 2 hours away. This Wednesday we will be going to Oslo again for Zone Conference.
This week went by fast and i had a great time contacting this week. On Tuesday before transfers were over Eldste Davidson and I saw the miracles begin to unfold. We had about 90 minutes to contact and we taught 5 lessons and gave out 4 Books of Mormon. The Lord really blessed us! The weather has been amazing here lately. Its practically summer but everyone has been telling us that it will get cold again and snow but it doesn't look like it. I never really experienced winter here in Norway. I guess the Lord knew i was coming here and decided to make it a little more mild ha ha. It has been nice and were supposed to have another nice week. We met with Shola this week and talked to him about baptism. He's on the edge of committing towards baptism. Shola and Victor were in Oslo on Sunday so they weren't able to come to church. Yesterday after church Eldste Heimdal and I rode our bikes far away to a small town tucked up against a mountain. It was beautiful and the people were pretty nice as well.
Other: Gratulere med dagen MOM! You got a pretty big present this year... a new house ha ha. The house is looking really good! I've been really impressed. I know that you say that know you won't be able to notice anything new but just keep sending pictures ha ha. I like looking forward to getting pictures. You can just take pictures from different parts of the house. You could also take some pictures of marks or that other house that is getting built. It sounds like the funeral went pretty good for Shelley. She was a great women and i have a lot of respect for her. Mitt Romney is representing ha ha. Mitt is creating wonders for the church. All the sudden people want to know who we are and what we stand for now. Its amazing and i hope he continues strong. March Madness is always a good time of the year. I hope that BYU goes far. I saw a poster for the hunger games movie. I bet that is going to be awesome. I love that book!
A goal isn't supposed to be way easy to reach but you should have to stretch yourself to reach that goal. I know that I'm going to grow so much this transfer. As we take our trials or our problems to the Lord he will help us overcome them and strengthen them. The worst thing i could do is just take a couple of steps back. I will continue to move forward and i will recognize my weaknesses, humble myself and take to the Lord as it says in Ether 12:27. I know this is the Lords work and a mission is the training ground for life. I love this work and I've never been so happy in my life. You all are great examples to me and I'm so grateful for this family. I love you all and i look forward to hearing from you again.
Eldste Godfrey
