November 21, 2011

Hei Hei Familie,
How is everyone doing? I miss you guys like crazy and I'll be thinking about you guys on thanksgiving. They don't celebrate thanksgiving here unless you have lived in the USA before. So were actually having a thanksgiving party with a member family so that will be a lot of fun. I can't complain about the weather here at all. Everyone has been telling us that last year at this time they had over a foot of snow. I still haven't seen snow and its been in the mid 40s and it hit 55 the other day. Not bad but when you get a strong breeze from the ocean it makes it really cold.

The Week:
This week was great and we saw a lot of miracles happen. We taught Andrè on Tuesday and Wednesday and both of those lessons went really well and he is continuing to progress towards baptism. It has been a huge blessing to see Andrè change his life and to see him come closer to Christ. We were in Stavanger for a zone conference on Thursday and i had an interview with President and we was telling how cool it is to find someone on the street and to see the whole process of someone becoming converted to the gospel. I've been able to become really good friends with this kid and i will probably stay in touch with him for the rest of my life whether he gets baptized or not. The Gospel is true everyone haha. We drove down to the city Sunday morning and took the bus with him to the church. I gave him one of my white shirts, pants and a tie to wear to church. I told him he could have them until he can find something else. All the members thought he was a missionary. We got permission to drive him to a members house after church for dinner. It was really good and we had a lot of fun! We shared a spiritual thought with the family and then the family asked Andrè would close us with prayer. He did and it was really cool. Afterwards one of the kids went up to him and asked how long he had been in the land because he spoke really good Norwegian. She thought he was a missionary haha. On the way back i was able to have a really good talk with him about how he feels about the church and baptism. I hope and pray that he will be baptized, i know that it will change his life forever and he will never forget it. We don't really have anything else positive going on right now. The traveling AP's are flying in tonight and are going to be with Elder Van Wagoner and I until Thursday morning. This will be really good to and is going to help area out a lot. We should be able to learn a lot from these Elders and hopefully find some positive investigators this week.

I know that this church is true and that is led by a prophet and apostles today who have the authority of God to do so. I know the Priesthood is authority from God and it is real. I had a cool experience happen to me last week when we were eating dinner with a member. The member asked if he could get a blessing. He said he had been going through some tough times and wanted to know what to do. I gave a blessing of comfort and peace and i just said whatever i was directed to say by the spirit. When the blessing was over there was some tears from his eyes and the first thing he said is <> He said that i told him stuff that no one knows about him. The spirit was really strong and I'm really grateful for the power of the priesthood. It has great power when we are worthy members of the church.

I look forward to that package haha 25lbs is a lot of stuff! Thanks for all your support and the next time you send something i would love some peach oatmeal packets. I love you!

Eldste Godfrey
