Hallo Familie!
I got your recording last week so you can send me another. I'll be sending another recording today. I hope Dave is alright. I'm quite jealous that you all went to Lake Powell. Dad must have been pretty unlucky to fall on the wake skate haha. Kasey wrote me and i sent him a letter last week. Languages are very difficult to learn but i know he can do it. His mission is going to be awesome and i'm sure he will live in some pretty crazy places. In Norway we're pretty lucky. Every apartment has a laundry room and heated flooring. These last few weeks we have had a lot of cruise ships come into Kristiansand. It has been raining almost everyday here and I've heard that Sept. and Oct are the rainiest parts of the year. If you are going to be sending a package anytime soon send some cds (disney, church, etc) anything that doesn't distract from the spirit. I went over to Josephs house again this morning and he had a presentation on the Bible this time and we are going back over there later today so i don't have a lot of time. I think i want to get into snowmobiling when i get home haha.
President Johansen flew down with his wife and the AP's on thursday. President Johansen gave a message to us on Ether 12:27 and what we can do with our weaknesses. Making weaknesses become strong is like the repenting process. When we repent we follow four steps: 1) We recognize the sin 2) we make things better by paying restitution etc. 3) Take it to the Lord and ask for forgiveness 4) Do everything you can not to do it again or enduring to the end. With weaknesses: 1) Recognize our weakness which means you have to humble yourself. 2) Have a desire to make your weakness strong 3) Take it to the Lord and ask for help 4) Do everything you can to overcome that weakness. God gives everyone weaknesses. In Exodus 4:10 it talks about Moses and his weakness. He had a weakness with speech. God tells him to open his mouth and it will be filled. Moses doesn't listen and he is given a spokesmen which we know is Aaron. If he would have listened he could have had his weakness become strong like Enoch. In Moses 6:27,31,37,39,42,47 it talks about Enoch and his weakness with speech. God tells him to open his mouth and it will be filled with power and authority. He listens and in Moses 7:13 you can see what God does with our weaknesses when we humble ourselves before God and come to Him with Faith that our weakness will be made strong. Enoch had such great faith that he was able to move mountains and rivers and anything that came out of his mouth was come to pass. We all need to trust in the Lord that our mouths will be filled when we open them.
Investigators:
Christina came to church again and she is an investigator again. We taught her three times over the week and she loves meeting with us. We hope that we can a baptismal date with her this next week.
Bente is a Norwegian lady who had lots of questions. I believe she will get baptized sometime in her life. She is very hesitant in moving to fast with anything but she has a desire to learn more.
Kristian is a Norwegian who married Julie from the branch. He has been taught most of the lessons and we've trying to work with him to get baptized. Christoper the Nigerian who has a baptismal date didn't come to church. I've called him everyday and he is not answering his phone. He mentioned that he might move to Oslo so I'm not sure what is going on with him.
We went contacting at the university this last week and knocked on like 100 doors but most of them weren't home. We got three return appointments with students so it went very well.
I miss you all very much and try and not to have to much fun without me haha. I love you!
