Hey y'all how you doin? I visited probably the coolest city in the world this last week. Ålesund was way sick and is known for the most beautiful city in the world! We had to cross some big mountain passes where we had to drive through a couple of big storms which was pretty cool too!
When we arrived into the city it was really windy and dark clouds covered the skies which made the visibility terrible. We drove to a look out point and couldn't even see the city. This point is a very popular place to take pictures and we couldn't see anything. I was kind of disappointed because I wanted some cool pictures of the city. I walked back over to the car and said a prayer that the storm would go away so I could take some cool pictures. Elder Van Wagoner got back in the car and I said I'm going to walk over to the view point one more time. I looked upon the city of Ålesund and the clouds began to disappear. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The skies were cleared and I could see everything as clear as day. I yelled over at Elder Van Wagoner and he came running over. It was a miracle! God answers our prayers even though it was not a big deal if I didn't get any cool pictures. After we took several pictures we started walking back to the car and the dark clouds overshadowed us again and we couldn't see the city any longer.
We have been very busy this week trying to get ready for all the missionaries coming in. Elder C a new missionary from Kaysville will be in my district so that will be pretty cool. We are going to be so busy this next transfer. We will be visiting all the northern cities from Alta down sometime this next transfer. We also have zone conferences so I could fly 30+ times in the next two months. It is going to be crazy busy but fun at the same time.
President and Sister Evans had a mission president seminar in Germany this last week and Elder Holland was the guest speaker. They said that it was absolutely incredible and Sister Evans said everyone was crying at the end. She compared it to when Jesus Christ visited the people in the Book of Mormon and they were speechless. The Apostles and leaders of the church travel across the world and I'm sure they are always tired but if they can do it at their age then I can do it here in Norway ha ha.
D is doing really well and she is looking good for her baptism on the 24th of March. It has been a lot of fun teaching her and watching her faith grow in Jesus Christ. The last time she asked about children who die without being baptized. It was neat to see how the Book of Mormon could answer this question of the soul by reading in Moroni 8.
In Priesthood meeting, we talked about raising families and how kids need to have physical nourishment and spiritual nourishment. I raised my hand and made a comment about dad and his example to me in how he gave me spiritual nourishment. I told them that I remember walking into the kitchen to eat some breakfast in the morning and I would see my dad saying a blessing over his food. I don't think he realized the impact that made in my life. Thanks Pops for being such a great example! Being an example is so important, and like they always say, "actions speaks louder than words."
It was great to hear from you all and I'm very grateful for all the support you give me. I hope you have a great week and don't forget to read the scriptures and pray everyday! Love you all!
Eldste Godfrey
