How is everyone doing? I received the package this week and i loved everything in it. I loved the paisley tie and the pillow tie. I'm going to use the pillow tie when traveling ha ha. I watched the wedding DVD even though sister strongly advised against it. It actually didn't affect my missionary work. It was cool to watch and I'm sad i missed it but i know that I'm where the Lord wants me to be and I'm not ready to go home any time soon. I still have so much to learn so i need to take advantage of my time here.
This week was amazing and we witnessed so many miracles. To begin, we started the free Norwegian course again at the center this week. We had a record number of students this week. We had 37 people show up and it was awesome! I led the show and welcomed everyone in and talked about the center we have here in Oslo and what we do as missionaries. We opened and closed with a prayer and at the end we watched a Mormon message video. One of the students just moved here from Utah to be in the Norwegian Ballet. He bore his testimony on Sunday and talked about his experience he had at the center. He said he felt the spirit really strong as we watched the Mormon message video and it is an awesome introduction to the church for these 37 students. The key now is to get some investigators out of doing this language class. It's becoming a big program and a lot of people are telling their friends about it. If you think about it... if you had 37 people there and they went and told two of their friends about the church all the sudden its like you stopped 74 people plus the other 37 students. That is over 100 people learning about the church and what we stand for.
Our miracle of the week is S. She is from Iran and is dating our ward mission leader here in Oslo. She is so awesome and way fun to teach. We eat at our ward mission leaders house and then we teach her afterwards. I have eaten some good meals this week including steaks and salmon ha ha. Our first lesson with her was on Tuesday and it went way good. We taught her about the restoration and she agreed with everything. She told us that she has been searching all her life for truth and hasn't been able to find. She has been to India, Mecca, and christian churches in the US and she hasn't been able to find what she is looking for. She was about to give up on God but she decided to give God one more chance and then she met our ward mission leader.
We had Zone Leader Council this week which went really well. It took the entire day and we did it at the mission home. Sister Evans made us a delicious breakfast and lunch. It was a very good meeting and we were able to come up with a lot of solutions for some of the problems were having in the mission right now. We will be having a zone training meeting that we are in charge of this week. We have the first meeting Thursday morning with the Oslo District and then we will be traveling down to Tønsberg (2hours) with President Evans to our next meeting. It is going to take the entire day but it will be fun!
On Saturday we went and played basketball at some courts downtown. It was so sick and we played some Swedish guys. It was Eldste Torjesen, E. Sessions, E. Lillywhite, and I verse the Swedish. We played four games against them and they weren't even standing a chance so we switched up the teams. It was a lot of fun and after we played with them we talked about the church and invited them to learn more. We might be playing with them again next Saturday. We are going to start playing every Saturday. I was pretty sore the next day since i haven't played for so long but it was a lot of fun!
We switched our P-day this week so the only thing I'm doing today is e-mailing you all. We will be having p-day on Wednesday and we are going to go visit a bunch of museums so I'm going to buy another 24 hr pass which costs about $50. I know that this really is the Lords work! One of the best things about a mission is the time we have to study. The best thing about that is I can do that after my mission too. I know the scriptures are there for us and will give us direction and guidance we need in our daily lives. The scriptures were written for our day and is a huge blessing for us. Keep up the good work Godfrey Family! I love you all!!!
Eldste Godfrey
