How is everyone doing? How are they doing? I can't believe i only have a little over a week left of this transfer. Time is going by really fast. I can't believe that Lisa is coming home in one month.
This has been an exciting week and also very stressful! On Tuesday we helped some members move to Rommerike. A lot people were supposed to show up but it ended being the missionaries and one or two other people. We had to move this really heavy piano down two flights of stairs ha ha. In the last two weeks i have build furniture from Ikea and moved furniture in and out of a house so I hope i got some feeling of what you all went through ha ha. They moved an hour away from Oslo so it took some time driving there and back but i had a lot of fun. I enjoy doing service and I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to help people move etc when i get home from the mission. It will be important that i keep the same attitude i have about service right now ha ha.
On the 4th of July we had a big zone conference! President Evans has done some changes so now we are only having zone conferences quarterly and we don't present at zone conferences anymore. As zone leaders we now have more responsibility because we are in charge of visiting all the district meetings and presenting there. We will be doing workshops and other things to build up missionary skills. It will be interesting to see how everything works out but I don't think any changes will be made until next transfer.
We bought all the food for Zone Conference and we made sure it was very American considering the day. We bought hamburgers, chips, water melon and ice cream bars. It was really good!
On Thursday we went to a golf tournament to support Sissel from Fredrikstad. She is a professional and plays on the Ladies European Tour. It was so sick and the golf course was beautiful. I was in heaven and when Jake and I come back to visit Norway we will definitely play that course. Sissel is a very good golfer and it was way fun walking around watching her and talking to people as well. We had a lot people coming up to us and asking who we were and what we do. I hope i will be able to be Jake's golf caddy when i get home ha ha.
P got baptized on Saturday and i was asked to give the talk on Baptism. It was very good service. Elder Johnson and I were the first ones to have a sit down lesson with him and we got the baptismal date with him. He has been a golden investigator and has built a strong relationship with the Lord. It's amazing to see these people change their lives. I love it and i hope I will be able to help people for the rest of my life both spiritually and physically.
A the recent convert has been amazing. We talked to him about temples yesterday and he can't wait to visit one. J from India came on the teach with us and we were talking afterwards about traveling the world. I told them that we should travel to Cameroon and India to visit their families. I also threw in there Australia because i would love to go there ha ha. A said i want to travel to Salt Lake City and visit all the church sites. I was really excited about that and I told him that he has a free place to stay when he comes.
Now i will answer all of moms questions, the weather in Norway has been very nice. It is very much like Hawaii this time of year. Its very humid and rains on and off. I study on my balcony a lot in the mornings and i hang out on my balcony in the evenings as well. I just love being outside! We don't really have a typical day here in Oslo. Everyday is so different in Oslo! A lot of our contacting is done on the T-bane(subway) or on buses, and trikks(street cars) on our way to appointments. Any other contacting is done by just walking outside our apartment and start talking to people. We eat with members about two times a week which isn't to bad but it wasn't like Skien. Its perfect though because member dinners takes out a lot of time and we just don't have time for it in Oslo.
I think i might be staying here in Oslo next transfer but I'm not sure and I'll know next week. I love you guys so much and i know that I'm where the Lord wants me. I gave a talk in sacrament meeting this Sunday about Gods love and i know that He loves us. We can't even comprehend Gods love for us. I'm so grateful to be serving a mission right now and to be strengthening my testimony. I love you all and I'll talk to you soon!
Eldste Godfrey
