How you all doing? This week has been a little different than usual. On Wednesday i took a train to Oslo to drop off Eldste Abrams at the airport and i picked up my new companion, Eldste Davidson from Grants Pass Oregon. He is a big kid and played basketball in high school. He is a little older than i am and he graduated high school in 2009. After i picked him up we went to Presidents place and ate dinner (Salmon). That night i took him out contacting and he placed his first Book of Mormon. He seems like a good kid who is willing to work but I'm going to miss Eldste Abrams and our future wife conversations ha ha. I guess the Lord decided i need more patience so he sent me another greenie. He was delayed a month in the MTC because he had surgery on his shoulder from something he had done before his mission.
We traveled to Tønsberg on Thursday night and slept the night there. On Friday morning we drove into Oslo for a training meeting. It was like an MTC reunion because all the trainers this transfer are from my group and one below my group. (Eldste Anderson, Hollingshead, Søster Taylor from MTC group and Eldste Knudsen from the group below us) President said that we have a lot young trainers this transfer. We had an awesome group of missionaries in the MTC and President has put a lot of trust in our group. That night we traveled back to Skien and we had a dinner appointment with the Bjørnbacks. Since i have been in Skien we have had a dinner appointment every single day!!! I have ate so much food here ha ha. After our dinner appointment we went back to our apartment and Eldste Davidson realized that he left the keys to the apartment in his jacket which he left in Tønsberg. We tried to break in but it wasn't happening... so i decided we need to take a bus to Tønsberg (90min). Well come to find out the last bus had just left so we were stuck and it was cold outside. I found a gas station to warm up in and i called Tønsberg elders to see if they could drive down with the keys. They were at an appointment but they said they would so we walked up to the train station to stay warm and we waited there for about three hours and they came at 12pm. I wasn't too happy ha ha. We finally got back to our apartment and the Tønsberg elders slept the night and drove back the next morning. We had a lot of crazy things happen this last week.
We haven't been able to to meet with Victor this week because he was busy with work and school. He went to Oslo on Sunday so he wasn't at Church either. We didn't have a lot of time to contact this week because of all the traveling we did. We are going to have another busy week with zone conference on Wednesday. It will be in Oslo and take up the whole day. Our pool of investigators are running low and we have a lot of work to do. Most of our investigators have dropped us and it is very frustrating/stressful. I always have to think to myself that there is no reason to stress or get frustrated about anything because I'm on a mission. Everything we go through we can learn something from it and some times the Lord puts trials in our lives to overcome them and become stronger. This is the best two years of my life and i really am enjoying every bit of it. I was thinking the other day about how much i enjoy studying. I love reading and increasing my knowledge. That hour of personal study is so precious to me. I know when i get back from my mission things will get real busy and this is the only time in my life that i can just really focus on the gospel and sharing it with others.
I haven't got your package yet but I'm sure I'll get it soon. I think i will be leaving next transfer but we will see. This transfer has already gone by way fast and I've learned so much. The house is looking really good! It sounds like Mitt had a bad week so hopefully he can gain some ground this week. I'
Thank you for all of your support. I hope Jakob had an awesome Birthday! This Church is true and it blesses lives. I decided to take a challenge this morning we give to everyone we meet with. To read and pray about the Book of Mormon to know if its true. It doesn't matter how many times you read the book of Mormon or how many confirmations you get you can always get another one by asking our Heavenly Father it the book is true. As i read 2 Nephi 26 i had this amazing feeling come over me as it talked about Christ establishing his church in the American continent after his resurrection. The Book of Mormon is amazing and i challenge all of you to receive confirmation of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. It is in fact Gods word and is evidence that God lives and that he has called a prophet for these latter days. I love you all and i look forward from hearing from you all next week.
Eldste Godfrey
