Hei Familie!
For some reason they cut five minutes out of my time to e-mail, so I'll try and type fast. How is everything going? I got the recorder yesterday and it was good to here from you all. I will talk on it today and send it back. Everytime you get the card you should save it on the computer so when i get home I'll have all of the recordings from you all and from me saved. This last week has been amazing with all of the apostles and special devotionals etc. Elder Bednar spoke to us last Friday and he taught us how to become a preach my gospel missionary. It was really good and I'll tell you more about it when i record myself. At the Tuesday devotional Elder Walker from the seventy spoke to us. He talked on 10 keys of being a successful missionary. 1. Focus on the Lord (Alma 39:13) 2. Love the Scriptures (1nephi 19;23 3. Forget about yourself (Mark 8;35) 4. Love the People 5. Follow the MIssion President 6. Learn the language of the spirit. He told us every missionary that is learning a second language should come back tri lingual and missionaries speaking English should come back bi lingual. 7. Work Hard (Alma 37;34) 8. Be Obedient (2nephi 32;9) 9. Be a "Preach my Gospel Missionary" 10. Prepare yourself to go home and be a faithful member for the rest of your life. When i commit an investigator to keep a commandment i need to commit myself to the Lord to follow that commandment for the rest of my life. In D&C 18:15 it talks about bringing one soul unto Christ. Norway is one of the hardest if not the hardest mission in the church. I know i will have success but the Lord will lead me to people that are looking for the Gospel in there lives. I also know that while I'm on my mission that one soul can be myself. When Elder Bednar spoke to us at the special devotional Elder Scott, E. Oaks, E. Holland, E. Nielson, E. Anderson, and E. Ballard were all there. One day i was eating a sandwich outside and E. Scott walked right past me, it was really cool. This Gospel is going to help so many people in Norway and i can't wait to share it with them. These last couple of days our district has been brain storming on how to get people interested in our message when we get to Norway. I plan doing what ever i can to get people to listen to this wonderful message that will bring us happiness and purpose in life. Thanks for all of the food you have sent me. I won't know if my visa is here until Friday but they told us if we don't hear anything then we should be going on time. I leave on July 4 at 11:00 from the SLC airport, i fly to Chicago and have about 2-3 hour delay and then i fly to London and then to Norway. So i leave at 11am on July 4 and i land in Norway at 11am July 5. Sounds like a long day but i should have a lot of time to study, sleep and talk to real people haha. Dad i got both of your conversion stories, they were both really good. Keep sending more please. I don't have a lot of ties so I'll probably be buying some when i get to Norway. I will also be buying a golf ball to knock on doors in the winter. I guess it gets pretty cold in the winter ha. After being in this heat with long pants and a shirt these last couple of weeks, I'm really glad that I'm going somewhere a little cooler ha. When i arrive in Norway i go to the mission home, eat lunch, drop off my stuff and go out contacting. I can't wait to start talking to Norwegians in Norwegian. I hope i can understand them and they can understand me ha. That's really cool that Justin got to meet the new jazz players and our future president. I will be sending some more pictures home either today or tomorrow. I love this Gospel and I'll talk to you all soon. I love you all!
Eldste Godfrey
